01 / Inside the housing
Three components decide whether a handheld cooler survives a summer or ends up in a drawer. Inspect each one up close and see exactly what it is made of.

The shell takes the whole load of a drop instead of passing it to a clipped seam, and the kickstand folds flush into the back with nothing protruding to snap off. Fold the head down and the unit closes into one solid block.
The nozzle sits in its own sealed chamber ahead of the motor housing and atomises into the airflow rather than dripping through it. Fine enough that it never soaks a shirt — you feel the temperature drop, not the water.
The display reads out the live speed setting and remaining battery, so a four-hour charge becomes something you can plan a day around instead of hope for. Five speeds, each one selected directly rather than cycled through blind.

Yes. The plate cools on contact whether or not the fan is running, so you can press it against your wrist or the back of your neck with no airflow at all.
Open the sealed chamber at the front of the housing, fill it with clean water and close it again. It is refillable, so there are no cartridges to buy. Use water only.

Up to 4 hours on a single charge. That figure is the lowest speed with the mist off. Running a higher speed, or the mist alongside the fan, will shorten it.
Yes. The kickstand folds out of the back and holds the fan upright on any flat surface, so it works as a small desktop fan when your hands are busy.
It runs on a 3600 mAh lithium-ion cell, which is well within the limits airlines apply to personal electronics. Like any device with a lithium battery it should travel in your hand luggage rather than a checked bag. Empty the mist chamber before you go through security, and check your airline's own rules if you are unsure.
